The Bruton Book Exchange was founded around a simple idea: that exceptional books and works on paper deserve a more thoughtful way of changing hands. Based in Bruton, Somerset, we bring together the traditions of the specialist dealer and auction house with the reach and simplicity of an online exchange.
Our interests extend from rare and important books to prints, drawings, manuscripts, photographs, maps and ephemera. We are guided less by category than by the object itself—its quality, rarity, provenance, beauty and the story it has to tell. Everything offered through the Exchange is carefully selected, researched and presented by us.

At the heart of Bruton Book Exchange is a belief in connoisseurship and personal service. We get to know what our clients collect, help them find things they may have been searching for for years, and advise owners on the best way to sell. Objects may be offered through the Exchange, at auction or privately, depending on where we believe they will find the right audience.
Bruton is our home, but the Exchange is international. We work with collectors, private owners, estates and institutions wherever they are, with the aim of making buying and selling rare books and works on paper informed, straightforward and enjoyable—and of finding the right next home for every exceptional thing that passes through our hands.
